As kids get ready for back-to-school, they're packing up notebooks and pencils. But too many will be missing the most important supply of all: food.
A $50 gift can help provide up to 500 meals for a child who is struggling with an empty belly and demoralizing hunger pangs. Your gift today can make a big difference for kids facing hunger.
We say that $1 can help provide 10 meals for children. Our donors sometimes ask: how is this possible?
It's not because we get huge discounts when purchasing food. In fact, we don't buy food at all. The issue in the U.S. isn't food scarcity; it's ensuring that children can reliably access food.
Address the root causes of childhood hunger by investing in programs that help families achieve economic stability—especially single-parent families.
Why don't children get the food they need? The cost of groceries is high, and many working parents' wages are inadequate. While there are programs to help, many eligible children don’t participate. We are working to remove these barriers.
- We support school and community meal programs.
- We provide grants to help communities access the food needed to nurture children.
- We advocate for better laws and policies and address the root causes of hunger.
- When we carefully invest donation funds into this work, schools and communities can feed more children.
Our work takes place wherever children need our help, including school meal programs and programs that assist families in feeding their children.
We continuously monitor and analyze data from school meal programs, so we know that $1 in grant funding can help communities and schools provide 10 meals.
