Winter kills. And in refugee camps, children are the most likely victims.

In their short lives, they've already had to flee war and violence. Now refugee children are facing another immense challenge: winter.

From Syria to Ukraine, Lebanon to Afghanistan - parents are struggling to keep their children warm, dry and safe.

During winter, conditions in refugee camps become unbearable. Temperatures plummet below zero - a disaster for people living in tents or makeshift homes. Heavy rain and snow can flood camps, trigger landslides and block aid deliveries when they're needed most.

UNHCR is rushing to deliver life-saving aid before the worst of the weather sets in. With your help, we can deliver vital supplies such as thermal blankets, heaters and warm clothing.

Cold kills so quickly. Please donate now to help displaced families survive a harrowing winter.

Syria

Millions of Syrians are facing yet another winter far from home. They will have to endure chilling winds and violent storms, but the most basic supplies, including food and gas, will be completely unaffordable.

Right now, Syrian refugees in Lebanon are running for their lives. Escalating attacks have forced thousands of families to flee. As winter descends, suffering will only increase.

With your support, UNHCR can provide vulnerable Syrian refugees with shelter and protection this winter.

Afghanistan

Last winter was the coldest in over a decade, with temperatures plummeting below -30 degrees Celsius. In the past year, communities have also been hit by earthquakes and flooding - destroying homes and displacing families yet again.

Having endured crisis after crisis, Afghans urgently need extra help to survive the long, dark months ahead.

With your help, UNHCR can provide shelter, cash assistance and winter clothing to the most vulnerable families.

Ukraine

Winter in Ukraine is desperately cold and storms can be deadly. Many families are living in badly damaged homes with leaking roofs and broken windows.

Soon, Ukrainians will struggle to remain safe and warm in the face of rolling power outages, rising fuel costs, and severe shelling in parts of the country.

Your generous donation can help repair damaged homes and keep families warm through the winter.
